How WrightNOW’s Approach is different…

At WrightNOW Counseling, couples therapy is grounded in a systems approach, viewing the relationship itself as the client, not just two people in conflict. Instead of focusing solely on individual concerns, we look at patterns, roles, and interaction cycles that keep couples stuck. Our intake begins with a joint session to understand your shared concerns, followed by an individual session with each partner. Then, we all come together to develop shared goals, create a treatment plan, and determine the best path forward. This process allows us to honor both voices while addressing the relationship, which often creates deeper and longer lasting change.

Our Four-Part Couples Assessment

Healthy relationships deserve more than quick fixes. Before beginning treatment, we take time to understand both the relationship as a whole and each individual's unique perspective. This comprehensive assessment allows us to identify the patterns contributing to conflict and develop a treatment plan tailored to your relationship's specific needs.

Session 1: Couples Session

Understanding the Relationship

We begin by meeting with both partners together to understand your relationship history, identify your shared concerns, and explore the challenges bringing you to therapy. This session is an opportunity for us to get to know you as a couple and begin viewing the relationship through a systems perspective.
